Bayern Munich are, undeniably, one of the biggest clubs in world football.
They are far and away the most successful side in Germany, having dominated the Bundesliga throughout history.
And their red home kits over the years have been a joy to behold.
Take this beauty back in 1989-1991. This was the first kit Alan McInally donned as a Bayern Munich player, and it’s a screaming classic made by Adidas.
It’s a bold red, offset with white Adidas striped, logo and Opel logo, with the imperial Bayern badge on the left breast.
Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga in McInally’s debut season in Bavaria, but were beaten by Kaiserslautern the following season, having to settle for second place.
Both seasons were, by any other club’s standards, decent in the Champions League, where Bayern were knocked out in the semi-finals.
They lost to AC Milan in 1990 and Red Star Belgrade in 1991.
