As the vintage football shirt sector continues to grow, so does the number of fake items hitting the market - causing a major issue for customers.  With this in mind, it is critical to source vintage football shirts from reputable sources with specialist authentication teams - like us.

Transparency is everything - that is why we take so many pictures of our products - so it's only right to provide insight into our 3 step football shirt authentication process.   

Step One:  Football Shirt Authenticity Analysis 

Before being listed on our website, every preloved item goes through a meticulous authentication procedure conducted by our seasoned Football Shirt Collective Authenticity Specialists (who have 10 years + experience in assessing shirts).  With an exceptional ability to differentiate between counterfeits, fakes and authentic pieces, our Authentication Specialists analyse each item in great detail. 

Whether it's a Nike or Adidas, Manchester United or Real Madrid - each vintage and retro shirt is meticulously examined against the manufacturer's stringent authenticity benchmarks. 

Our Authentication Specialists examine various aspects, including: 

• Stitching precision 
• Feel of the material
• Football shirt crest quality
• Shirt labels 
• Shirt codes

Seeking any irregularities that might indicate a lack of authenticity.

Step Two: Condition & Damage Inspection 

Once the vintage or retro football shirt has been authenticated our team of Authentication Specialists step in to examine the condition of every piece.   This evaluation encompasses a thorough scrutiny of both the item's interior and exterior. We want to be as transparent as possible to make sure you know what you are receiving.  

Our aim is to stock only the best vintage football shirts so we are proud that the majority of the shirts we stock are in Excellent condition.  Of course these are vintage pieces - some of 40 years old - so there can be wear and tear but we describe as we see it.

Step Three - Football Shirt Photography

As we said, transparency is key at the Football Shirt Collective.  That is why our product listings contain multiple photographs of the football shirt.  Unlike competitors who have the odd picture we want to make sure there are no surprises, so we take pictures of the shirt, labels, crest and details.
