Last year, adidas kicked off their reunion with Arsenal in a big way.

After several years apart, The Three Stripes returned to a classic adidas look lifted straight from the 90s, winning over the hearts of fans and the wider football shirt community.
For round 2 of the comeback, things are taking a different turn. In 2020 (and for the FA Cup final), Arsenal will be running out in a much bolder, more daring design which features an all-over triangular pattern inspired by Art Deco design.
It’s the sort of pattern which wouldn’t look out of place in the 90s, but at the same time it feels quite fresh. The best thing for me is that this comes off the back of the much cleaner 2019 home. By changing things up in this way, adidas are showing that they don’t want to rest on their laurels.
I have to mention too that the pattern continues on the back (hallelujah!), and there’s a wonderful detail on the back inspired by Arsenal crests of the past.
Whilst I preferred last year’s Arsenal home kit, I’m feeling very positive about adidas and Arsenal as a whole in light of the 2020 shirt.
