Vintage, retro and classic mean different things. A vintage shirt is an original made and sold in its own season. A retro shirt is a newer re-issue of a classic design. A classic shirt is any iconic design, old or new. Everything we sell is either a vintage original or a re-issue clearly labelled "Retro" or "Reissue" in the title.
The 1990s are the heart of the vintage market. Nearly half of our current stock is from the 1990s and almost a third from the 2000s. adidas, Umbro and Nike are the brands you'll see most, followed by Reebok, Puma, Asics, Pony and Kappa.
Replica, player issue and match worn are different grades. Most vintage shirts are replicas, the version sold to fans. Player-issue shirts were made for the squad, and match-worn shirts were worn in a game. Browse our match-worn and player-issue shirts.
Sizing has changed. Shirts from the 1980s and 1990s are cut looser and boxier than modern shirts, so check the measurements on each listing rather than the label size.
We've sold 10,000+ items since 2014, led by Premier League shirts (1,629), Serie A shirts (1,473) and international shirts (1,045) (FSC sales data, September 2026).

Start with your club and an era you remember. Shirts from the 2000s are the most affordable way in: two-thirds of our shirts from that decade are listed under £100. Most of our shirts are listed between £45 and £160, with a median of about £100 (listed prices, September 2026). For a first grail shirt, look at the early-to-mid 1990s – the era of the bruised banana, Cantona's Umbro United shirts and Kappa's Serie A classics.
