There aren't many clubs where the shirt is as instantly recognisable as the badge — Boca Juniors is one of them. That blue-and-gold band has barely changed in over a century, which is exactly why it's one of the most requested shirts in our community. As illustrator Dan Leydon puts it: "I love the Boca Juniors kit, the colours are great and it works fantastically in tandem with logo placement." It's a shirt that just works, whatever era you land on.
We've spoken to collectors who've chased down everything from 1980s originals to the Olan-reissue Maradona home shirt, and we've sold Boca shirts to buyers across the UK, Argentina, Italy, France, the US and beyond over the years.

"In the time before advertising and branding, many football shirts looked amazing. That said, some with sponsors from the 80s are great. From the 1990s until today I don't think there's as much to get excited about. I really like the Boca Juniors shirt from 1981." — David Diehl
This is the shirt Maradona wore in his breakthrough season at Boca before the move to Barcelona, and it's the one David picks out as a genuine high point from an era before shirts carried sponsor logos at all.
I mean come on. The adidas trefoil. The long sleeves. The original had the Parmalat sponsor. Worn by Alex MacAllister's dad, Carlos Mac Allister.

The shirt most people mean when they say "the Boca Maradona shirt." This is our best-selling individual Boca Juniors listing by some distance in our own sales history — the re-issue captures the 1995/96 comeback season, shirt number 10, and it's the entry point for most Maradona collectors who can't stretch to an original match worn piece.

The away counterpart to the home re-issue above - rarer to see move through our listings than the home version, which makes it the one serious Maradona collectors specifically ask us to source.

The first proper Nike-era Boca home shirt, and one of the cleanest takes on the band design - no gimmicks, just the crest and the stripe. A recurring seller for us across UK buyers in particular. It was Riquleme's breakout season.

A straightforward, well-loved early-2000s Boca home shirt - sold to a US-based collector, part of a steady trickle of Boca interest we see from North America. Round neck collar and yellow trim. It's really simple.
Same template as the 2000/01, but this one's tied to the Riquelme years specifically and has the central crest.

Boca's 100th anniversary shirt, as worn by Martin Palermo, arguably the club's greatest post-Maradona striker, and this shirt sits right at the intersection of two things collectors love: an anniversary kit and a genuine club legend. It was worn in the 2005 Copa Sudamericana finals where Boca beat UNAM.

The kit worn during Boca's sixth Libertadores triumph - a strong candidate for a future listing given how often continental trophy-winning shirts move for other South American clubs in our experience. The shirt introduces the darker blue (similar to the 1995 OLAN shirts).

"I adore the Boca Juniors shirt - specifically the home shirt from 2009. I had to trawl the internet for a long, long time to get hold of one. When I was younger and creating my own clubs on FIFA or Football Manager, the kit would always imitate the blue and gold design of the Argentine side." - Jonny Sharples
Proof that this design has a hold on people well beyond matchday collectors - Jonny's story of hunting down this exact shirt after years of recreating the blue-and-gold in FIFA and Football Manager is exactly the kind of collector obsession we love hearing about.
