South Korea 2020 away shirt review

100 Word Reviews – The latest shirts in bitesize chunks

I’m never going to financially recover from this.

The new tiger-striped South Korea 2020 away shirt is here, and it already has my wallet trembling.

It’s one thing to go down the tiger route, but Nike have elevated things to new levels here with a superb pattern that looks almost like a watercolour painting.

Alongside the ambitious design (which reminds me of France’s iconic ‘Breton’ kit from 2011), you’ll also find striking gold detailing, a sharp new collar rarely seen before from Nike and the recently rebranded KFA crest (which I’m a big fan of).

This easily rivals Japan and Nigeria as the best shirt of the year so far.

  1. Like the Adidas WC 18 effort before it, I hate these digital-block numbers. For a game that sells itself as free flowing and fluid, these numbers are anything but. Gross.

Thie kit itself? I’m fine with it. Not a huge fan of fades – done too often, to varying degrees of success – but this is OK.
