This Tottenham shirt is the best kit you’ve forgotten all about

Throughout the early 1990s, Tottenham’s kits were works of art.

The Holsten-sponsored, Umbro-made kits made Paul Gascoigne, Teddy Sheringham and Jurgen Klinsmann look even more spectacular than they already were.

But between 1991 and 1994, Spurs created some of their best ever kits.

They went for the classic white as their home shirt, a punchy yellow for their away kit, and a kit that defies belief for their third strip.

The awe-inspiring Spurs kit is a sky-blue masterpiece with navy lettering and, the cherry on the icing, a magnificent “SPURS” printed into the shirts fabric, running behind the Umbro logo and the club crest.

But when you think back to great Tottenham kits over the years, you probably don’t think of this masterclass in kit manufacturing from Umbro.

  1. Thathe sky blue shirt is my favourite shirt of all Spurs shirts.
Many people laugh at this era of shirt design but I don’t think modern shirts are half as attractive as these.
