Karel Poborsky didn’t have the best of times when he joined Manchester United.
The Czech Republic midfielder scored one of the greatest ever goals in the European Championships against Portugal.
Weaving his way through the opposition, he lifted the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper from outside the penalty area.
After his dazzling displays for his country, Sir Alex Ferguson decided to sign him from Slavia Prague.
But Poborsky struggled with the intensity of the Premier Leagueand fell out of favour in Ferguson’s side.
After just 32 Premier League appearances, the floppy-haired midfielder was shipped off to Benfica.
I’m sure not a day’s gone by when Manchester United fans have thought, what on earth does Karel Poborsky look like now?
Well, your prayers have been answered.
Poborsky appeared in a Legends charity match between Manchester United and Liverpool in September 2015, and the former Lazio star wouldn’t have looked out of place in an organic Shoreditch coffee shop.
Here’s Poborsky with his full-on hipster look:
Poborsky, sporting his trendy new look, bagged a delightful dink to square things up at 1-1, and United went on to win the game 4-2 at the Friends Arena in Stockholm.
Karel, we salute you.
