Shirt Story: Japan’s 2004 effort is notable for its shadow stripes which run across the body of the shirt, but just as significant is the style of the adidas three stripes on the shoulders.
As with over adi shirts of the time the three stripes taper at the end, giving an almost ‘claw-like’ appearance. It’s the sort of detail that’s easy to miss, but it helps this shirt stand out from its peers.
The adidas typeface deserves a mention too. The mesh look was a popular one at the time, and its charm hasn’t faded over the years.
