We caught up with Manchester United fan, Marcus Marritt about his first ever (Liverpool!!) football shirt and his favourite Paul Scholes goal. Marcus Marritt is an illustrator based in the UK with an amazingly distinctive style. This interview was done as part of our My First Football Shirt series.

What was your first football shirt?

My first shirt was the 1989 Liverpool grey Candy kit. I have no idea how this came to be as I'm a Manchester United fan. A lovely kit though.

What is your favourite football shirt?

Favourite kit, easy. Juventus centenary pink kit from 97 - 98. Sony sponsored. One day I will own one!

What is your favourite goal?

Paul Scholes v Barcelona at Old Trafford in 09. Perfect breakaway goal and everything I love about United.
