A lot of things have improved in the football shirt world.
In the last few years, we’ve seen an explosion of bespoke patterns and a move away from the homogeneous, template-heavy era of the late 10s. We’re also more aware of releases from the far corners of the globes, allowing us to top up our collections in ways that simply weren’t possible not so long ago.
Not everything is better in kits though. One thing we can (probably) all agree on is that sponsors used to be better. Nowadays in 2020, betting companies are on something of a rampage across all levels of the game, whilst many sponsors stubbornly refuse to incorporate their logo better with the design of a kit. Quite simply, the sponsor glory days of the 90s seem like ancient history.
At the start of July we decided to run an experiment, replacing modern day sponsors with classic sponsors of the past for all the major new releases.
