There are certain football shirts that will remind you of match and some that will remind you of players and the 1999 Barcelona shirt is one of them. We took to Instagram to find out who it remind you of.
What is it?
1999 Barcelona centenary shirt. It was half and half blue and red to celebrate 100 years with the Barcelona crest in the middle of the shirt above the Nike tick.
Who made it?
Nike. Who else.
Who wore it?
A whole host of Barcelona legends. Rivaldo and the all the Dutch lads; Ronald and Frank De Boer, Kluivert, Bogarde, Cocu and Bolo Zenden.
Who did it remind you of?
On our Instagram there were some shouts for Kluivert (@chroniclesofgeorge, @strictlysporthistory) but the far away winner was Brazilian forward and king of the overhead kicks Rivaldo (@jamescampbelltaylor).
What moment does it remind you of?
Annoyingly for us Rivaldo didn’t score any overhead kicks wearing the 1999 home shirt but he did score this lovely goal vs Real Madrid. The finish was nice but that first touch to line it up was glorious.
