The 90s Manchester City shirt that’s so good it inspired this season’s third kit

Manchester City donned their lovely third strip for the first time this season earlier in the week when they demolished Oxford United in the Carabao Cup.

The shirt design by Nike has a purple base and orange sash and was inspired by this beauty. The 1992-94 Manchester City away shirt.

Made by Umbro, the shirt has a purple base with thin white pinstripes.  The “BROTHER” sponsor and Umbro crest are in luminous orange to contrast with the purple.

We think it’s an absolute belter and agree with our mate Phil, who thinks the sash should have been white (not orange) to honour it.
