Is this Manchester United’s greatest ever away shirt?

Manchester United can’t get much right at the moment.

Jose Mourinho is publicly falling out with anyone who’s willing to have a go, including his star midfielder Paul Pogba, and results are looking as glum as Jose’s face after he saw his side dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Championship side Derby County.

But, lest we forget, there was a rosier time in United’s history. Remember when they dominated English football for two decades? Yea, wasn’t even that long ago.

Back then, they had some banging kits, including this utter worldie:

Although this 1990-92 United away kit was slightly before Alex Ferguson’s side tore Liverpool’s records to shreds, it’s gone down as an absolute classic, and we’re unsure whether there’s ever been a better kit in United’s history.

The shirt was chosen by Michael Marden (Quickly Kevin) as his favourite ever in Your First Football Shirt

I’ve got two, if that’s allowed. Number one is the Manchester United away, the sort of herringbone ’90-’92 era, the long-sleeve version of that one is a work of art.

Made by Adidas with the glorious blue-and-white print, completed by the red Sharp sponsor and trim, they’ve never come close in terms of away kits.
