Manchester City’s kits this season aren’t really all that.
Well, the away kit is actually pretty tidy, but the home shirt in particular really isn’t up to much. It’s got weird sleeves, a weird collar and an even weirder button at the top of the shirt.
The sky-blue-and-white colour scheme has lent itself to some absolute beauties over the years, though. Think back to the absurdly good Brother-sponsored Umbro shirts of the 1990s.
FC Design, a designer and concept-kit artist, has created a series of shirts that they’ve shared on Instagram, and they make this season’s shirts look absolute toilet.
Take a look at these:
They’re clean, simple and classy. Even though the colour scheme is similar to Man United’s current third strip, the navy and gold effort above is a joy, and just imagine Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva tearing it up in that white-and-maroon away shirt.
This season’s kits, however, will be the final suite in the club’s current Nike deal, with City set to axe the sports giant in favour of Puma. We’re intrigued to see what they come up with next time around.
