It was a big weekend in the Premier League. City dropped points at Wolves, Arsenal got their first points but most importantly Crystal Palace wore a sash and Everton donned this banging 3rd kit.
Each week we’ll share ours picks for the best shirts worn on a match day. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
Kit of the weekend: Crystal Palace away v Watford
You can’t beat a sash on a football shirt. River Plate, Peru (ask Philippe Auclair), even that Sweden 3rd kit from a few years ago. Crystal Palace and Puma have followed suit with this absolute banger inspired by the 1980-81 shirt.
That shirt was chosen by Neil Ashton as his favourite and we can see why;
My favourite shirt is Palace’sclassic Adidas sash from the 80/81 season – it remains the best and most iconic kit the club has ever worn. I bought David Giles’ No7 match worn shirt about six or seven years ago and I treasure it.
Notable plaudits: Everton 3rd kit v Bournemouth
Massive shout out has to go to Everton and Umbro for their lovely 3rd shirt. Not only does it have that sick Umbro trim on the sleeves but the faded blue lines feels a bit Netherlands 88. It’s lovely.
