After a painful play-off defeat last season, Aston Villa may be staring down the barrel of another season in the Championship, but they may have won the kit war on these shores for the 2018-19 campaign.
In fact, their home shirt for the coming season is pretty special. Feast your eyes on this.
Villa have partnered with clothing brand Luke 1977 to create this two-tone-claret beauty. The sleeves and collar are a subtle but classy throwback to a bygone era.
So good were the shirts, that Villa even reported a 180% uplift in pre-order sales before their release.
It’s also pretty refreshing to see a shirt manufactured by someone other than an absolutely gigantic sports brand. Hats off to Luke 1977.
