New Balance gave us something to shout about with their Celtic and Liverpool kits at the start of this season.
Not only were both kits worn by classy, attacking-minded sides, but they were also brilliant in their own right. Plus, they came from a manufacturer that’s pretty new to a game currently dominated by Nike and Adidas.
Celtic’s kit this season was a simplistic take on the club’s classic style. Bold green-and-white hoops with gold detail on the Glasgow giants’ crest and NB badge. It was completed by a neat crew-neck collar.

For starters, there’s more white than green on the shirt, which is sure to piss a few punters off. The sponsor is beyond the control of New Balance, but it looked so much better when it was printed in gold. Like this:
We’re not so sure New Balance have used the platform of this season’s kit to its maximum, but we’re certain the likes of Scott Brown, Leigh Griffiths and Scott Sinclair will tear it up next year whatever you put them in.
