Let me take you back to Feb 26th 1994. Mariah Carey was number one with Without You, gamers were smashing Tekken and Matt Le Tissier scored a goal kids around the country tried to recreate.
Southampton were playing Wimbledon at The Dell in a tight affair. They won a free kick on the edge of the box. Instead of smashing it first time the balled was rolled to Le Tissier. He flicked it up and glided it past Hans Seger’s in the Wimbledon goal.

Le Tissier made it look so simple but as school kids in England can testify it wasn’t. The goal was recreated in every playground and football pitch across the country.
Southampton won the game 1-0 thanks to the goal and Le Tiss finish the season on 20 goals. What a hero.
