In 1994 Frank Clark’s Nottingham Forest revolution was in full swing. Promoted to the Premier League they where buoyed by a gloriously 90s shirt and Stan Collymore banging in goals for fun.
The 1994-95 Nottingham Forest shirt was made by Umbro and had everything we love in a 90s shirt. Firstly it was baggy. Not just loose. This shirt was big. Secondly it had a 3 tone (black, white and red collar). Thirdly the crest was absolutely gargantuan. It was the size or Stuart Pearce’s left pectoral.
Forest wore the shirt as they finished 3rd in the Premier League. Imagine if that happened today. Promoted from Championship and in the first season hitting Champions League places.
Up front Stan Collymore was unstoppable scoring goals with either foot and his head. Here he is scoring a lovely header against Leicester with some of the slowest build up the Premier League has ever seen.
Although he’s not wearing the home shirt in this one we still love the left foot curler for Forest against Manchester United.
