Manchester City and United aren’t that keen on Liverpool.
Runaway Premier League leaders City were well beaten at Anfield last week, despite a late fightback. And we all know about the age-old rivalry between United and the Merseyside club, both vying for the title of England’s most successful football club ever.
But an eery thing happened when Roberto Firmino overpowered City centre-back John Stones before dinking the ball over the onrushing Ederson: a near-identical goal was scored by a Liverpool player against a Manchester club in 1995.
Take a look at this:

Robbie v Bobbie, it was aptly tagged on Twitter by @AnfieldFM.
Some 23 years ago, Robbie Fowler eased Man United defender Gary Neville off the ball before lifting the ball over Peter Schmeichel.
It’s hard to pick out which goal was better, given that they’re almost exactly the same.
Last week’s win against a City team some tipped to go unbeaten for the season was undoubtedly the better result, but Fowler’s double in the 2-2 draw back in 1995 silenced Old Trafford and ruined Eric Cantona’s return to football after a lengthy ban for kung-fu kicking a Crystal Palace fan.
Needless to say, Liverpool’s fans were absolutely buzzing after both those games.
