In the early 2000’s Arsenal played European matches in their 2000-02 third kit and it was an absolute belter.
The dark blue shirt was made by Nike and had a contrasting gold trim and Nike tick that went well with the original and classic Arsenal crest on it.
It was sponsored by Dreamcast – Sega’s now discontinued console – who were making a push into Europe and took over the shirt sponsorship from JVC.
The shirt was worn by legends like Henry, Pires, Bergkamp. Arsenal donned the shirt in the Champions League where Arsenal made it to the quarter finals in the 2000-01 season, losing on away goals against Valencia.
It was also worn in 2001-02 when Arsenal went out of the 2nd group stage behind Bayer Leverkusen and Deportivo La Coruna despite hammering the Germans and Juventus.
