Chelsea have been flying of late.
They battered West Brom last weekend and dished out a similar beating away at Qarabag in midweek.
And back in the 1997-98 they were a pretty tidy team too. Yes, before Roman Abramovich’s cash rolled in.
Under Ruud Gullitt and later Gianluca Vialli, who took over from the Dutchman in February 1998, Chelsea had a very, very tasty side between 1997 and 1999. They also had an iconic kit.
The Autoglass-sponsored home kit will always remind us of some bona fide Chelsea legends, like Tore Andre Flo, Dennis Wise, Gianfranco Zola and later the mighty Marcel Desailly.
It may or may not also remind you of Frank Sinclair.
Wearing this kit, Chelsea won the League Cup and UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1997, and they picked up the Super Cup in 1998, having finished third in the Premier League.
