This Arsenal away shirt perfectly sums up everything that was good about the 90s

In the early 90s adidas entered a reign of bashing out absolutely sensational and crazy away shirts for Arsenal with the jewel in the crown being the bruised banana.

Bruised banana Arsenal M

The bruised banana has to be the most iconic 90s football shirt out there.  Big and baggy with a bright yellow with faded blue triangles and the colouring of a bashed up piece of fruit.

It is equally loved and hated by Arsenal fans.  Blogger ‘East Lower’ thought it was eye-stingly foul.

It was the scrambled egg, dazzle ship horror show from 1992, clearly designed by people who’d had a lot of fun in the acid house years. I’ve supported Arsenal since 1980, but that was the first shirt I ever had and I bought it as a joke – that’s how eye-stingingly foul it was. I could never have guessed that 20 years later it would gain cult status.

We love it.
