Watch: Samuel Eto’o made this goal for Barcelona look “seemingly ordinary”

We are taking a look back on some of the best goals in favourite football shirt interviews.  Here is a cracker from Samuel Eto’o for Barcelona against Panathinaikos in the Champions League, as chosen by Michiel Jongsma.

Eto’o had some record at Barcelona scoring 103 goals in 145 games and winning 3 league titles, 2 Champions Leagues and shed loads of cups.  The Cameroon striker was class in the Champions League and scored 5 goals on the way to lifting the trophy in 2006 including this beauty against Panathinaikos.

Always a difficult thing, as I’ve seen better goals , but Samuel Eto’o vs Panathinaikos in November 2005, for Barcelona. Because you know he’ll do it again if he’s given the chance and that there’s a good probability of him executing that as well as he did in that game too.

The ball was passed to him by Lionel Messi to put Eto’o through, and instead of running at the keeper, Eto’o decided to ‘just’ bend it into the top corner from first touch. He’s done it before. He’s turned a very special skill into something seemingly ordinary.
