The greatest Manchester United shirt you’ve forgotten all about

Manchester United away kits have had a mixed reception over the years.

Not everyone was keen on the 1992-94 Newton Heath-inspired green-and-gold kit that evokes memories of Steve Bruce.

And their grey strip this season isn’t exactly setting hearts a racing, given what happened the last time United tried to play in an ‘invisible’ kit.

But there’s one kit that isn’t as easy to remember, despite the fact it stands out like a sore thumb.

In the 1992-93 season, United played in a navy away kit, with the classic Sharp sponsor and a gigantic club crest printed onto the front of the shirt. Take a look at that beauty:

The kit should be a classic, but few would name it when asked for their favourite ever United shirt.

This strip was worn by superstars like Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs and Gary Pallister when United were named champions in the Premier League.
