This shirt will remind you of when Everton were the best team in England

It’s been a long time since Everton last won the Premier League.

The Merseyside club appear to be building something pretty special under current manager Ronald Koeman, but it’d be a stretch to imagine them lifting the title any time soon.

But back in 1986, legendary manager Howard Kendall achieved something wonderful: his side held off bitter rivals Liverpool to win the English First Division.

Not only did Kendall’s side survive the departure of Gary Lineker to Barcelona, Everton were by far the best team in England that season, winning the title by nine points.

After Liverpool, Tottenham landed third place and George Graham’s emerging Arsenal team finished fourth.

Everton were a joy to behold that season, with club heroes like Kevin Sheedy, Adrian Heath, Peter Reid, Neville Southall and Gary Steven lining up each week.

But after helping the club to their ninth English title, Kendall left Merseyside for Athletic Bilbao.
