Robert Pires’ top five Arsenal goals

Arsenal fans absolutely love Robert Pires.  The dreamy Frenchmen joined Arsenal from Marseille and after a slow start, was one of the key forces behind winning the title in 01/02 and the Invincibles season.

The French winger opened his account in the Champions League for Arsenal against Lazio with a beaut of a right football curler.  🙌

Arsenal v Liverpool

Arsenal were on a mini slump only winning 1 of 5 previous matching.  They were drawing 1-1.  Then in the 67th minutes Pires then secured a crucial victory after collecting a pass well outside the area in the 67th minute, he took a touch and curled a magnificent shot into the far corner.  👌

The right foot curler was becoming a bit of a signature move for Pires.  Against Spurs (of who he loved to score against) the ball came into Pires’ path from a Wiltord pass.  Without a touch he looked up and curled the ball past an onlooking Neil Sullivan.  🔥

In 01 02 Pires scored a worldy against Villa.  Ljungberg played a long ball.  Pires nonchalantly flicked it over Boateng and calmly lobbed it on the volley over a gloomy looking Peter Schmeichel.  Obscene. 👊

In a similar vein to the Villa goal Pires scored a sumptuous lob against Southampton.  Arsenal were 5-1 up and Pires on a hat trick when the ball broke to him 30 yards out.  Without a touch Pires looked up and curled the ball into the top corner.  🇫🇷
