The stat that proves Chelsea legend Drogba is the ultimate bogeyman for Arsenal

During his time at Chelsea and beyond, Didier Drogba made Arsenal defenders’ lives hell.

The giant Ivorian won it all while at Stamford Bridge, even netting the winning penalty in the Champions League final to see off Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

Drogba was a colossus when he played in the Premier League, scoring 100 goals in England’s top flight over two spells.

But one team felt the full brunt of Drogba’s force, pretty much every time they faced him: Arsenal.

Incredibly, Drogba has played against Arsenal 16 times in his illustrious career and scored 16 goals.

Not all of them came when Drogba was wearing Chelsea blue either. He scored twice against Arsene Wenger’s side while at Galatasaray, and even bagged at the age of 38 while playing for the MLS All-Star side against the Gunners.

Of the 13 goals in 14 games he scored for Chelsea against Arsenal, his most important had to be when he sprinted clear of the Gunners defence in the 2009 FA Cup semi-final to claim the winner, sending the Blues to the final.
