5 things we learnt from Liverpool 4-3 Newcastle 1996

Keegan had a great suit and Tino Asprilla could finish like Suarez. Here’s five things we learnt from Liverpool 4-3 Newcastle United in 1996.

ROBBIE FOWLER COULD FINISH

Fowler’s finishing was class.  The 1st a bullet header from a Collymore cross and the 2nd and neat finish from a McManaman pull back.

KEEGAN WAS WEARING THE MOST 90S SUIT EVER

Kevin Keegan was rocking the most 90s suits ever.  Maroon suede.  Bravo.

ASPRILLA WAS A BIT SUAREZ LIKE

I love Tino Asprilla.  His goal was class.  Played through he shot 1st time with the outside of his boot past David James.  Very Luis Suarez.

COLLYMORE WRAPPED IT UP

Newcastle United were 3-2 until Collymore stuck.  The 1st he tapped in at the far post.  And the 2nd was from great interplay between John Barnes and Ian Rush.

IT WAS ALL TOO MUCH FOR SUPER KEV

Keegan had enough.  He put his jacket on a slumped over the advertising hoardings.
