Manchester United won 4-3 but couldn’t stop the phenom Ronaldo who scored a hat-trick for Real.
His first goal was a bullet finish on the angle into the bottom corner past Barthez. The second, a tap in from a beautiful move with Zidane and Roberto Carlos. The third was a immense. Ronaldo got the ball about 30 yards out, Wes Brown stood off and the Brazilian striker curled it into the top corner.
He was then taken off to a standing ovation at Old Trafford.
