Can you name Arsenal’s longest-serving player?

Arsene Wenger has been Arsenal‘s manager for more than 20 years, but you may be surprised at who the club’s longest-serving player is.

He’s been there for more than half of Wenger’s time at the club, and was signed as a teenager holding great promise.

That’s right, it’s Theo Walcott. The flying winger signed for the club more than 11 years ago. In fact, he joined Arsenal from Southampton in January 2006.

As a 16-year-old he was selected for the 2006 World Cup by Sven-Goran Eriksson, but struggled to force his way into the starting 11.

Although many feel is potential hasn’t yet been reached, Walcott started this season in lethal form, scoring 11 times in 20 appearances.

Walcott doesn’t look like he’s heading away from the Emirates any time soon and, at 27, he could be there for a few more years yet.
