This Everton shirt is the greatest kit to have only been worn once

Back in 1993, Everton had a pretty handy team.

Neville Southall in goals, David Unsworth and Dave Watson propping up the defence, Peter Beardsley in midfield, and Tony Cottee banging them in for fun up top.

They also had some seriously handy NEC-sponsored Umbro kits.

One such kit that season was only ever worn once by Everton.

The white third kit was donned in the Coca Cola Cup replay against Crystal Palace, which the Toffees won 4-1.

On November 10, 1993, Everton hammered Palace wearing the greatest kit only to be worn once.

Admittedly, it isn’t the greatest accolade in football merchandising history, but it’s still an absolute banger.

The white NEC kit with Everton-blue stripes is pretty iconic, and it even has a 100% win rate.

Toffees fans didn’t have too much to cheer about that season (Everton finished 13th in the Premier League and went out of both domestic cups in the early rounds), but this kit should bring a smile to the most coldhearted Everton fan.
