When Ugo Ehiogu scored the most ridiculous Rangers v Celtic goal ever

Is this the most random goal Old Firm goal ever? Rangers were playing away to Celtic in the Old Firm and centre-back Ugo Ehiogu scored an absolute screamer to win the match 1-0.

After Ehiogu so sadly passed away on Friday, it feels only right to remember arguably his finest moments as a player. Not only was Ehiogu a brilliant coach with Tottenham’s youngsters and a great person, who was also pretty handy with a football.

Ehiogu signed for Rangers from Middlesbrough on a free in January 2007 and made his Old Firm debut in March.  He scored the only goal of the game with his class overhead kick past Artur Boruc. Celtic would go on to win the league but this goal did give Rangers something to celebrate.

Ehiogu went on to play nine games for Rangers with this his only goal.

His death at the age of just 44 last week brought the football world to its knees. Tributes from everyone in the football family poured in, and he’ll be remembered fondly for decades to come. We salute a true legend of the game. Rest in peace, Ugo.
