Is this Everton’s greatest ever home kit?

Everton have had some absolute beauties when it comes to football kits over the years.

But in the 1986-87 season, something remarkable happened.

Not only did they clinch the First Division title in Howard Kendall’s final season before he left for Athletic Bilbao, but they had a simply sensational kit.

Not only did Everton battle through a series of injuries, they pipped bitter rivals Liverpool to the title, with David Pleat’s Tottenham finishing third.

The side boasted some serious talent: Neville Southall in goal, Paul Power and Gary Stevens in defence, Peter Reid running the show in midfield and Graeme Sharp banging them in up front.

Everton only lost once at home that season, on the opening day to Arsenal.

The Umbro kit they wore, with the darker blue collar and square design, was fit for the kings that squad were.

The NEC sponsor is the cherry on top of this magnificent kit.
