This ridiculous Paolo Di Canio goal for Sheffield Wednesday will make your day

Paolo Di Canio has scored some amazing goals in his time.  Scissor-kick volleys for West Ham. Free kicks and long range screamers for AC Milan & Celtic and mazy dribbles for Sheffield Wednesday.

It was a sunny April afternoon in 1998 and Sheffield Wednesday were away to Everton.  Wednesday went 2 up through Mark Pembridge before Duncan Ferguson got one back for Everton.  As the home team push on Di Canio caught them on the break.

Wearing a bright orange Puma kit, he received a clearance from a defender out on the left wing, around the half way line.  Di Canio cut inside Dave Watson and tapped it past an oncoming Michael Ball to leave him one on one with Thomas Myhre with acres of room.

There was only going to be one winner.  Di Canio left the Sheffield Wednesday goalie on his tuchas with the ball in the back of the neck.  Class.
