Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola might well be the best coach in the world, but he was also a sensational footballer while at Barcelona.
Although Guardiola cemented his place in the club’s history as arguably their best ever coach after delivering unprecedented success between 2008 and 2012, he was also a terrific footballer in the Barcelona colours.
Playing in the centre of midfield, Guardiola wasn’t known for his goals.
In fact, in 263 appearances for the Catalan club, he only scored six times.
But we’ve stumbled upon a clip of his three best goals, and they’re all absolute bangers.
Watching this clip makes us wonder how on earth Guardiola was so profligate when it came to goalscoring.
During his time at Barcelona, where he came through the youth ranks, Guardiola played under and alongside the best in the business.
Romario, Luis Figo and Michael Laudrup graced the Nou Camp with their presence during the 1990s, and for the most part they were guided by the Dutch master Johan Cruyff.
You don’t have to look too far to see where Guardiola inherited his footballing principles from.
