Arsenal have had some great kits in their time. They’ve also had some great teams.
Some years, they boast both those accolades at the same time. Between 2003 and 2005, that was the case.
Not only was it during that period that Arsene Wenger’s greatest ever team emerged as Premier League champions without losing a single game, but they also had cracking kits.
One such kit was their yellow away shirt.
The likes of Freddie Ljungberg, Sol Campbell, Robert Pires and, of course, Thierry Henry, donned that kit as they cruised to the title without breaking a sweat.
Arsenal are famous for their yellow away kits. It can get a bit boring to see the same kits wheeled out season after season, but the 2003-05 away kit was utterly majestic.
It was the bright yellow we’re used to, but the blue trim really elevated it to another level. It was produced at Nike’s peak in kit manufacturing, and the lighter shade of blue made it pop. The O2 sponsor’s simplicity ensures that the shirt takes main stage too.
