This Kanu goal for Arsenal against Barcelona will make you lose it

In 1999 Arsenal faced Barcelona in the Champions League.  The game had everything red cards, legends and a Kanu equaliser.

Arsenal were wearing the odd combo of yellow away shirt and white shorts whilst Barcelona wore their centenary shirt.

They had a team of legends; De Boer, Guardiola and Rivaldo up front.  Barcelona opened the scoring through now manager, Luis Enrique who capitalised on Vieira’s error.

Things got  worst for Arsenal as  Gilles Grimandi did what Gilles Grimandi did and elbowed Pep Guardiola in the head.  Red card.

Arsenal didn’t give up and with Henry, Suker and Kanu on the pitch got the equaliser.  Davor Suker’s left foot shot was slipped by Barcelona goalie Ruud Hesp and Kanu was there to slot it in.

Wenger thought Barcelona were close to perfect

Barcelona were technically perfect in the first half; we couldn’t stop them.

And at half time told them to attack a bit more

I told the players to be a little bit more audacious.
